Upon arrival the hosts were polite and professional,We were celebrating a birthday. The young lady promptly sat us. This is when the dining experience went from pleasurable to probably the worst dining of my 55 years existence. The server was a young lady, she approached the table, requested our drink order and appetizers. She brought the order. Preceded to take main meals of party then left never returning with plates to place appetizers. She returned only as the main meals were being presented to the table. I do not believe race should be interjected in all misunderstandings because as a professional individual myself, I believe in awarding a hard day work with a meaningful tip. This experience alone became very hard for myself to even consider any tip. I left $5.00 whereas my normal rate is $20.00 per appreciation of my return business and companies applied services of their employees. Per the experience, I believe there will be no return business to the Green Turtle restaurant in Crofton on Route 3.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. By the looks of these comments, nothings changed in months. Unless you're ready to put in the time to wait a ridiculous amount for your food, definitely go somewhere else.
I am sure there are individuals out here that would love to replace that server just to support themselves or family.
Went to this Greene turtle today and was highly impressed!!! I went in expecting an enjoyable experience but I got so much more. As I walked through the door I was promptly greeted by our host, Michael. He had a great smile and I was impressed by his attitude and customer service. He walked us to our table and promptly asked us, "would you like to sit here?" How could I refuse? The table was in a great location and his professional was excellent. I cannot wait to come back and I will definitely be looking forward to seeing Michael again.
I'm back visiting from the south after being away 6+ months. I've been to The Green Turtle quite a few times and I've never been too impressed with the food, even told my waiter...so I asked his opinion on what to order and he recommended the course I believe called Hog Choppers.. it was great!! And I'm VERY picky. For Easter Sunday night it wasn't very crowded but he was respectful and attentive. I highly recommend this place, at least be lucky enough to get the same waiter and service he provided. Sure made my night much better.
Every time my fiance and I come to this location, we end up sitting in here for about 2 to 2½ hours total and most of that time is waiting. Waiting for food, waiting for add ons like more sauce or napkins, waiting for the check, etc. Last time we were here, almost an hour went by before he got his food and all he got was a pulled pork sandwich and some fries to go. Almost an hour! It was ridiculous, an this location is always so cold!! Sure when it's hot outside, you step in, and it feels amazing, but after 10 minutes, I'm always shivering and covered in goosebumps.
I'm a huge fan of the Greene Turtle but NOT this location! After waiting for 15 minutes in the bar area, we watched the servers argue over who had to serve us. The food and drinks were very slow. After finally getting served my appetizer of wings (we arrived at 4:45, served wings at 5:55), they were undercooked. In 90 minutes we were only able to get 2 rounds of drinks due to the totally inattentive server. I live next door so I stop in occasionally but have more sad stories than positive. I'll probably keep trying it once every few months, but this is unfortunate because I wish I could come here more often! Lots of other options nearby that I would steer you towards before here.
Again, this has become the number one worst dining experiences ever. Recommendation: try some of the area's various restaurant and leave the Green Turtle restaurant in Crofton on Rt3 alone. Rating:1 due to polite and professionalism of the welcoming host.
